FCC Statement of Faith (Revised 2013)
1. We believe in one God and Creator of all things, eternally existing in three loving, divine persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Gen. 1&2; Col. 1:15-17; Jn. 1:1-31;
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, sinless in His life, who was crucified as the perfect Sacrifice for our sins, and now sits at the right hand of our Father in heaven to return in power and glory. Isa. 7:14; Luke 1:35; Jn. 1:1, 14:28; Ro. 14:9; 2 Cor. 5:19; Phil. 1:6; Col. 1:19-22, 3:4; 1 Tim. 3:16, 6:11-16.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who was sent by God to abide in us, to guide us in living a loving and godly life by His power. Jn. 14:12-28, 16:13, 20:22; Acts 1:4-8; Ro. 8:26-27; 1 Thess. 5:18.
2. We believe our Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, scribed by man as the complete revelation of His Will for salvation and the ultimate authority by which we are to live and by which we are to be judged. Ro. 13:1; 2 Tim. 3:10-16; Heb. 4:12.
3. We believe God created Man in His image, and Man is to love God supremely. However, being a sinner by nature and choice, after the fall, Man became alienated from God. Through God's grace and Christ's Atoning Blood, we are saved from this lost condition. Gen. 1:26-27, 3:1-24; Lk. 19:10; Ro. 5:12-21, 14:9; 1 Cor. 15:22; Eph. 1:3-7, 2:8-9, 4:17-24; Col. 3:9-11; 1 Thess. 5:18; 2 Pet. 11-4.
4. We believe that Christ intends His Church to be made up of believers who are united in spirit. We believe we are to be obedient to His commission, going out into the world bearing witness, making disciples, and loving others as God loves us. Matt. 28:19; Ro. 5:19; 1 Cor. 12:14; Gal. 3:28; Eph. 1:1-4, 22-23, 2:19-22, 5:2; Col.1:18.
We believe in the two Ordinances established by our Lord: namely, Baptism and Communion. We believe water Baptism to be the outward demonstration of our inward desire to turn from Sin to God; and that it is symbolic of Christ’s death and rising to eternal life. Matt. 28:18-20.
We believe we are to celebrate His Holy Communion in unity, with praise and thanksgiving as He instructed; partaking of bread and the fruit of the grape as symbols of His broken body and His shed blood, doing so in remembrance of Him, until he returns. 1 Cor. 11:23-26.
5. We believe in the bodily return of our Lord Jesus the Christ, at a time known only to the Father. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved. Christ, our King, shall judge those that are lost unto eternal damnation, and those who are saved unto eternal life with Himself in His glorious Kingdom. Amen. Matt. 4:17; Mk. 14:62, 16:16; Acts 1:11; Ro. 8:23, 14:8-12; 1 Cor. 6:8-10, 15:22, 35-58; Heb. 10:29-39; 2 Tim
